Bridging the Gap Between Research and Reality

Connecting research insights with practical strategies to effectively prevent sexual violence and create safer communities

As a 2023 Graduate of CUNY Hunter College’s Applied Social Research + Digital Sociology program, I have refined my skills and training as a social researcher. Before completing my master’s, I earned two Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology and Women’s Studies at Wichita State University, where I also earned a Minor in University Honors with a focus on Social Activism, and certificates in Community Psychology & Tilford Diversity Studies.

My primary research interests focus on topics and issues within reproductive rights and justice, sexual violence prevention, and the role of art-making in social change. I have a growing interest in Gig Economy research from an anti-capitalist lens as exemplified in this project. As a graduate student, I've explored electives that reflect my passions and interests such as: Combatting the Far-Right Research Intensive, Culture & Cognition, and LGBT Social Movements, which culminated into my first academic publication featured in the Journal of Black Sexuality & Relationships. I was also published in the National Harm Reduction Coalition mini-course Black Becoming: A Legacy of HERstory.

When I'm not conducting research for writing and public dissemination, I enjoy collaborating with mission-aligned non-profits and organizations to host focus groups, interviews, content analysis, and deliver workshops and presentations.

If you are interested in working together on a project that supports community safety and wellness for marginalized groups, let’s connect! Thank you for your interest in my work!
