NEW YORK STATE SEXUAL VIOLENCE PREVENTION & RESEARCH
POLICY & ADVOCACY:
Enough is Not Enough Campaign
In collaboration with the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault, I authored the policy white paper: Enough is Not Enough: Maintaining New York State as a Leader in Campus Sexual Violence Prevention.
Since its inception in 2015, Enough is Enough’s $4.5 million investment has not seen an increase despite rising inflation and the drastic changes to the landscape around campus sexual violence, the impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, how we respond, and what tools are needed for meaningful primary prevention. Based on current data, of the approximately 1.1 million students enrolled in NYS post-secondary educational institutions, 148,710 students were sexually assaulted during the 22-23 academic year. While money is not a shortcut to safety, an immediate increase of funding Enough is Enough to $9.6 million annually will secure the reach this program has for survivors and victims across New York State.
