Fighting Back Crisis Pregnancy Centers as Combatting Far Right Anti-Abortion Legislation and Post-Roe “Solution”
Amidst the leaked landmark Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v Wade, activists, advocates, journalists, and researchers have called for increased attention to crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs). While CPCs have been positioned as a viable solution to a post-Roe world, their existence as a vehicle for the radicalization and mission of the far-right, targeted advertising towards communities of color, and large funding streams need to be pushed back upon. Through qualitative interviews, respondents shared strategies for fighting CPCs such as political community education, meeting community needs beyond abortion care, and increased investment in people of color from the Midwest and South, who have already been engaging in difficult battles for reproductive rights.
